The book "Man's place is Earth" contents a complete philosophical system for incoming future. Philosophy lectured here is a continuation of work of Henryk Skolimowski, creator of ecophilosophy, one of the greatest Polish philosopher of XXth century. His ecophilosophy is a solution of many problems destroying today our planet and people living here.
The book is not only a describing of Skolimowski's philosophy. It is also highly creative evaluating of this system. Starting from classical philosophical problems - ontology, epistemology and anthropology - author leads his readers through the question of how myth works in society and it's culture, through deliberation on eschatology and age-end decadentism right to the visions of future civilization. The author deeply believes that ecologism will help the people be better for Nature and for each others.
Chapter 1 is, a presentation of ecological myth and its consequence for philosophy and ordinary life. Then we find three classical philosophical problems seemed form ecologic point of view (chapter 2 - 4). Chapter 5 is a theory of how the myth works in society and what to do to make the myth creative for all of us. In three next chapters we find some main stricte ecological ideas. Chapter 9 is an analyze of actually and futurelly social condition and circumstances needed to maintain our planet clean physically and mentally. Chapter 10 is an incomplete, but suggestive vision of ecological society. Chapter 11 is a purpose how the rich West can rebuild many destroyed in the past form of local spirituality. Chapter 12 redefinines "success in live" to make success possible for everyone, not only for the riches. At the end, chapter 13 is a sketch how to apply philosophy and behaviors form old agraric cultures to make our live "more ecological".
