"Free Tibet" is a group of people (and a non-governmental organization) brought together by creating, writing and reading the irregular bulletin "Free Tibet". The bulletin, published nationwide at its own expense through advertising in the national press and on TV, is distributed all over Poland. The people who edit "Free Tibet" are actively involved in the environmental NGO movement and during conferences and meetings, present the actual situation in Tibet.
Thanks to the recent major political and social changes in Poland, the group is able to start to work officially and contact international organizations to collect more information. Poland has many political and trade connections with China and, consequently, there is a lack of information about Tibet and its inhabitants. The proposed visit of the Dalaj Lama was canceled due to pressure from the Chinese government and hesitation of Polish leaders.
"Free Tibet" wishes to create a library and video archive for people who are interested in the history, culture, religion and current political situation in Tibet. It also hopes to participate in all forms of international activities and activities connected with this issue.
