Challenges of Sustainable Development in Poland
The course will be held from 1st to 21st of July 2002 year, in
O¶rodek Konferencyjny PAN in Mogilany near Kraków.
Sustainable Development is considered essential for all countries
to ensure that the needs of the present population is met without
compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs.
A three-week course will address all major issues concerned with
how to move every sector of our society towards sustainability
and the problems that can arise. The workshop includes more than
100 hours of lectures, also field trips, meetings, seminaries,
video projections, etc. Some of the issues addressed during the
course will be: environmental ethics, ecological economics, systems
ecology, resource issues, sustainable community development, sustainable
architecture and construction, industrial ecology and metabolism,
integration of sustainability into education.
Dr. Charles Kibert (University of Florida), Gisela Bosch and Jan
Sendzimir (Sendzimir Foundation) and Andrzej Biderman (PEPF) will
conduct the course together with a number of guest lecturers.
Participants will receive a Certificate of Participation and will
become members of a network designed to share information on sustainable
development.
Fee: 300 zl
Language Requirement: English (advanced level)
