JOB ANNOUNCEMENT FOR CONSULTANT

Milieukontakt Oost-Europa^*) is seeking a CONSULTANT who will assist Milieukontakt in the implementation of the activities in Poland from the beginning of 1998 until mid-2000. Milieukontakt organizes support activities for environmental NGOs, such as study visits, training, funding programs. Milieukontakt provides practical support to NGOs on specific topics such as lobbying, Local Agenda 21 and cooperation on the community level, enlarging the visibility of NGOs in the community by getting more members and better public relations, and improving national and international cooperation. FUNCTION

The position will consist of tasks and duties connected to implementing the project in Poland. It varies from organising trainings in Poland to assisting environmental NGOs which participate in the programme, and from informing Milieukontakt staff in Amsterdam about the NGOs' needs and activities to maintaining contacts with the different people Milieukontakt is working with. The consultant will be working under supervision of the Project coordinator for Poland, working in the Milieukontakt office in Amsterdam. The appointment starts on January 1, 1998, for 2 days a week. REQUIREMENTS

The candidate has proven knowledge and experience on the following:

• Good communication skills;
• Good language skills in Polish (native) and English;
• Knowledge of the Polish environmental movement; insight in the needs of the environmental organisations;
• Good organisational skills, and preferably experienced in giving training and/or assistance to NGOs; FEES AND CONDITIONS
• The consultant will receive a reasonable honorary fee, based on two days work per week;
• Small office expenses and travelling in the framework of the programme will be reimbursed; PROCEDURE
