We urge UN delegates and all politicians to make clear statements for the realization of the following criterias, to speak out for the peacful use of speace and against any military use of speace and to strengthen the position of the UN.

Criteria for the Assessment of Future Speace Projects:

1. Exclude the possibly of severe catastrophe
2. Avoid military use, violent conflict, and proliferation
3. Minimize adverse effects on health and environment
4. Assure scientific-technical quality, functionality, reliability.
5. Solve problems and satisfy needs in a sustainable and timeely manner
6. Seek alternatives with best cost-benefit effectiveness
7. Guarantee social compatibility andstrengthen cooperation
8. Justify projects in a public debate involving those concerned

We ask for support of the following list of objectives and demands for space use, promoted by the Global Network Against Weapons and Nuclear Power.

• Apply space technology to social and environment needs here on Earth
• Ban the use of nuclear power in space
• Explore alternative technology paths for space power and propolusion
• Solve problems on planet Earth instead of creating new imblances and conflicts in space
• Prevent confontation and enhance international cooperation in space
• Ban space weapons and space-based military installations by national and international law
• Avoid oversized, costly, and risky space projects >Encourage and foster global democratic debate about space exploration and colonization
• Strengthen existing international space laws that call for the collective, non-explotive use of celestial bodies.

We hope that UNISPACE III and the Conference on Disarmament will quickly and effectively move into this directions.

Wir bitten die UN-Delegierten und alle Politiker eindeutige Erklärungen für die Verwirklichung der umseitigen Kriterien für die Beurteilung zukünftiger Weltrummissionen abzugeben und sich für eine friedliche Nutzung und gegen jede militärische Nutzung des Weltraums auszusprechen und die Position der UNO zu stärken.

Wir bitten um Unterstützung für die Liste von Zielen und Forderungen zur Weltarumnutzung für die sich das Global Network Against Weapons and Nuclear Power in Speace einsetzt.

Wir hoffen, daβ UNISPEACE III und die Konferenz für Abrüstung schnell und wirksame Schritte in diese Richtungen unternehmen.
